The house cocktail of Arnaud’s Restaurant in New Orleans, it doesn’t get much more simple than this. Just three ingredients stirred and chilled with ice to create the perfect drink to slowly sip in the evenings.
The Godfather is one of the simplest, yet most enjoyable cocktails I know of. Needing only two ingredients, the balance between the two that can be achieved is astounding. I was first introduced to this drink in a student-type bar with no cocktail list to speak of. My friend suggested it as a nice alternative to the standard vodka-coke/pint combinations and it didn’t take much explaining to get the bar staff on board. This is one to be sipped and savoured, a great drink to start – or end – any night.
